Historic Preservation Committee Advisory Board

 

 

 

Purpose

The Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) was established by the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of preserving certain prehistoric archaeological sites, historic areas, structures, buildings, and objects, both private and public, which are reminders of past eras, events, and persons important in local, state, and national history or that provide significant examples of past architectural styles and are unique and irreplaceable assets to the County. The HPC is also responsible for collecting and disseminating historical data regarding the aforementioned items.

 

 

Membership

The HPC is composed of members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners as follows:

  1. Two (2) representatives from the West Pasco Historical Society.
  2. Two (2) representatives from the Pasco Historical Society.
  3. Two (2) representatives from the Pioneer Florida Museum.
  4. One (1) representative from each Chamber of Commerce within Pasco County.
  5. One (1) representative from each municipality in Pasco County.
  6. One (1) member from the Board of County Commissioners as designated by the Chairman.
  7. Five (5) at-large members as recommended by the Historical Preservation Committee.

 

 

Terms

There is no set term of office for members of the HPC. Vacancies are filled as they occur.  

 

Meetings

The HPB does not conduct regularly scheduled meetings, but meets as determined by the Committee.
