Purpose

The Parks Advisory Board (PAB) was established by the Board of County Commissioners to see that reasonable control and regulation of all County parks and park activities are implemented for the protection and preservation of the parks' natural features and historic significance and for public use and enjoyment of the areas and facilities. The main objective is to provide maximum public use consistent with the preservation of the natural features and historic value. The PAB makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding the dedication and/or acquisition of County lands and facilities to be used as parks.

 

 

Membership

The PAB is composed of seven (7) members as follows:

  1. Five at large members (with each member appointed by a County Commissioner).
  2. Two remaining members are appointed by a majority vote of the Board. One member shall represent the east side of the County and the other the west side of the County. The dividing line for this purpose is U.S. Highway 41.

 

Terms

Terms for all members of the PAB appointed by the Board of County Commissioners shall run for the same duration as the Commissioner who makes the appointment.

 

Meetings

The PAB meets as may be required.
