Purpose

The Suncoast Health Council (SHC) was established by the Board of County Commissioners as required by state law to develop plans for the coordination, delivery, and improvement of health care services in Pasco and Pinellas Counties based on local health needs. The SHC promotes public awareness of community health needs by various means such as disseminating consumer publications that help citizens make informed health choices.

 

 

Membership

The SHC is composed of members as follows:

  1. A representative of local health care providers.
  2. A representative of non governmental health care consumers, not excluding elected officials, which shall include persons over and under 60 years of age.  

 

Terms

Terms for members of the SHC are for two years.

 

 

Meetings

The SHC meets on the second Wednesday of every other month at 11:30 a.m. at a location to be determined by the Council.
