Short Term Disability: Voluntary short term disability insurance is available to all permanent, full time employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week. Short term disability coverage insures your income for a defined period of time in the event you are temporarily disabled and unable to work. The program is designed to pay, after a 14 day elimination period, an amount you select in an amount up to 66% of your weekly covered earnings (up to a maximum of $500.00 per week). Benefits will cease at the end of the disability of 13 weeks, whichever is greater. The policy does contain a pre-existing conditions limitation. Rates vary depending on age and amount of benefit. Long Term Disability: Voluntary, long term disability insurance is available to all permanent, full time employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week. Long Term Disability coverage insures your income in the event you become disabled and cannot work. You may receive monetary benefits designed to help you maintain your income and lifestyle. The program is designed to pay, after a 90 day elimination period, 60% (maximum of $5,000.00per month) of your gross annual salary for the time you are disabled. The plan does contain a pre-existing conditions limitation as well as a reduction in benefits when the disabled employee begins collecting Social Security or Disability Retirement benefits. Rates vary depending on age and salary. |
