Engineering services implements and supports the County's Transportation Capital Improvement Plan (TCIP) within the Comprehensive Plan for Growth Management. The Engineering Services Department (ESD) has been actively working toward compiling a portfolio of road projects ready to go to construction. For Fiscal Year 2007, 39 projects were in the design phase; 26 projects were in the acquisition phase; and 35 projects in the construction phase.  The Engineering Inspections Department provides professional engineering inspection capabilities relative to the development of subdivision/commercial and special projects that the County pays for, will maintain, or has approved through the development review process.

For FY07/08, the goal of the Administration Division is to coordinate and direct all engineering services required by the Development Services Department and to provide engineering support to other County departments as required. The goal of the Engineering Inspection Division is to provide quality inspections on all projects. These include projects with approved construction plans, preliminary plan approval, or those under completion guarantee to the County.
