Hours of operation: The Fishing Pier is open 24 hours 7 days a week; the remainder of the park is open from Dawn to Dusk
This park is classified as a Natural Resource Park consisting of 31 acres. There is a beautiful Fishing Pier right next to the Progress Energy Power Plant and you can launch your canoe and head out to the Gulf. This park is also known for its Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail where you can observe various kinds of birds from the pier and trail.
We have a Dog Park where both small and large dogs can play in an area that consists of 24,200 square feet. It has a fenced-in area for both size dogs with a drinking fountain for them as well as a fire hydrant, tunnels to run through and even a few covered benches for the owners to sit and watch their pets play. Please follow posted "Park Rules".
There is also a beautiful boardwalk that connects to Key Vista Park, which is just east of this park. Be sure to take the walk over to the other park, it's absolutely peaceful and gorgeous.
Effective November 22, 2010, there is a $2.00 charge to park at this facility. To pay the $2.00 fee at the park, there will be a fee collection pay station located in the park (follow directional signs) with an envelope giving instructions to place your money in the envelope and drop it into the pay station and hang the perforated part on your rear view mirror. Please have exact change as there will not be any staff available to make change for you.
If you prefer, you can save money and purchase an Annual Park Pass for $60.00 and is valid for a full 12 months of use. The pass is good through the last day of the month, one year from the date of purchase. This pass can be used at all eleven county parks that require this new user fee. You can purchase the pass at our Parks and Recreation Office located at 4111 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Suite 202, Land O' Lakes, 34639 or you can download an Annual Pass Application from our website and mail it to our office to receive your annual pass via mail.
