This community park consists of 6 acres of property located on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The beach frontage is about 1,900' and a swimming area of 200'. The south Hudson beach frontage is 290' with fishing access. You can watch the most gorgeous sunsets right from the beach, boardwalk, lawn swings, or the observation area above the pavilion. Unfortunately the parking is over crowded because so many people come out to relax and enjoy the view or grab a bite to eat at Sam's On The Beach or Inn on the Gulf Restaurants, which are both located right on the property.
You can rent one of the 4 large picnic shelters for $25 w/o electric or the large pavilion with observation deck for $40 w/o electric. Plan a family picnic, birthday party or even plan a wedding right on the beach. There are picnic tables and grills for the public to use as well as water fountains, pedestal shower, benches and of course a small playground for the young children to enjoy.
Reservation Information: Reservations can only be made for during the week, no weekend reservations are permitted. To reserve a shelter or pavilion, please contact our Veterans Memorial Park at (727) 861-3033 or (727) 861-3052. You can find a reservation form on the Parks and Recreation main website page listed under Park Information, then click on the folder marked Reservations and fill out the form and drop it off at 14333 Hicks Rd., Hudson, with your payment.
This is a great place to bask in the sun, take a swim, cast a line and do some fishing, or launch your boat and set sail for a day on the Gulf. Keep your eyes open for the dolphins, fish, crabs, and sea turtles. Follow the channel out and head south and visit one of our other parks at Anclote River Park which also has a boat ramp and beach area. Anclote Key Island is a State Park located just 3.5 miles south of Anclote River Park and you can camp overnight right on the island.
Boating: There is a boat ramp at the beginning of the park with 33 paved parking spaces. The boat dock is 220' with 8 boat slips. You can launch your power boats, jet-skis, canoe or kyaks from the boat ramp area. There is a $5.00 launching fee for boat-trailer parking but you must have exact change to put into the pay machine as it does not give any change and we don't have staff available to make change for you, but only this pay machine will take debit and credit cards.
This park is located on Clark Street off US 19. Turn west on Clark Street, approximately one mile to the entrance of the park.
