Effective November 22, 2010, there is a $2.00 charge to park at this facility. To pay the $2.00 fee at the park, there will be a fee collection pay station located in the park (follow directional signs) with an envelope giving instructions to place your money in the envelope and drop it into the pay station and hang the perforated part on your rear view mirror. Please have exact change as there will not be any staff available to make change for you.
If you prefer, you can save money and purchase an Annual Park Pass for $60.00 and is valid for a full 12 months of use. The pass is good through the last day of the month, one year from the date of purchase. This pass can be used at all eleven county parks that require this new user fee. You can purchase the pass at our Park and Recreation Administration Office located at 4111 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Suite 202, Land O' Lakes, 34639 or you can download an Annual Pass Application from our website and mail it to our office to receive your annual pass via mail. The Suncoast Trail is a 42-mile paved trail that stretches from Hillsborough County through Pasco and ending in Hernando County. The shared path is owned by Florida's Department of Transportation, Turnpike Enterprise, and operated and maintained by the three counties' Parks and Recreation Departments. The majority of the trail is in Pasco County which is 21.6 miles long.
The Suncoast Trail is a part of Florida's statewide system of greenways and trails. You can explore maps and descriptions for this and other trails in Florida at: www.floridagreenwaysandtrails.com.
There are trailheads located at SR 54 and the Suncoast Parkway with grass parking spaces and paved handicap parking spaces. There are benches along the entire trail and some sheltered tables as well. You will find two wildlife viewing areas on the Pasco section of the trail. Current access to the trail is available at all crossings of public roads. Additional parking is available at Crews Lake Park in Shady Hills. There are watering stations along the path that our staff fills on a daily basis.
You will find certain amenities at some of the intersections such as a port-o-let, restroom, public telephone, water supply or cooler and four information kiosks. Here is a list of the trailheads and major intersections:
