Pasco County Recycling Office co-sponsors numerous events:

March for Parks (March)- This annual event takes place the first weekend in March. This family event takes place at Jay B. Starkey Park to raise awareness on why parks are important to the community. Proceeds from the event will go toward funding a special project for the park. This public/private partnership consisted of contests, tours, displays, activities, and demonstrations. Pasco County Utilities sets up a display, which focuses on waste reduction, litter prevention, and recycling.
Great American Cleanup (April) - This event takes place on the third Saturday in April every year. This spring cleanup is a nationwide event sponsored locally by Keep Pasco Beautiful, a private non-profit corporation. Pasco County has been an active participant in these cleanups for two decades.
Earth Day (April) - The Annual Earth Day takes place on the fourth Saturday of April at Crews Lake Park. The cooperation and partnership of Pasco County Parks and Recreation, Keep Pasco Beautiful, the Pasco County School Board, and Pasco County Utilities has provided the backbone needed for the continuing success of this event. Bring your family and visit all the exhibitors, activities and be eligible for many environmental door prizes.
Coastal Cleanup (September) - This national event is spearheaded by The Ocean Conservancy and coordinated on a regional and local level. It takes place on the third Saturday in September every year. It is a public/private partnership between county and local municipalities, non-profit organizations and businesses throughout the county. This activity is one of Pasco's most widely recognized, with thousands of volunteers participating by cleaning area waterways, beaches, and access roads to aquatic regions within the county.
Christmas Tree Recycling (December - January) - Every year the Recycling Department, Parks and Recreation and some private businesses partner to offer Christmas Tree Recycling drop offs to Pasco citizens. The trees are chipped and used in our parks to mulch trails and planting beds. The drop off runs from the day after Christmas until the day after the Eucharist in January.
Adopt-A Road (ongoing) - Implemented by the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners over ten years ago, the Pasco County Adopt-A Road Program now boasts interlocal participation from Pasco County Utilities, Pasco County Public Works, and the Cities of New Port Richey, Port Richey and the city of Zephyrhills. This program promotes the theme of taking ownership for and keeping our community clean by "adopting" sections of roadway in Pasco County. Formal guidelines are established through the Florida Department of Transportation and Pasco County, which include attending safety training and following those requirements, scheduling at least four (4) cleanups per year, and reporting the volume of litter collected. If interested in participating, please contact Pasco County Utilities at 727-847-8041.
