WELCOME to SAVE

SAVE is an acronym for Sexual Assault Victims Examination, a program committed to helping all victims of sexual assault.

SAVE collects evidence of rape for the purpose of prosecution in a supportive and protective environment.    SAVE also provides wellness exams for those not wishing to report the rape to law enforcement agencies. Exams are provided only if rape occurred within 72 hours of report. Personnel provides training, as needed, to law enforcement agencies handling rape cases, as well as on limited cases, public education on rape awareness.

This program has been providing crisis intervention for sexual assault victims and their families since 1986. Additional services provided to victims of rape include testing for sexually-transmitted diseases, administration of preventive medications, and referrals to local support agencies/groups.

SAVE has an Advisory Board comprised of the following agency representatives: Pasco County Sheriff, New Port Richey Police Department, Port Richey Police Department, Dade City Police Department and their respective Victim Advocates, Domestic Violence Shelters, Health Department, medical professionals, Child Protection Team, Area Agency on Aging Victim Advocate, Attorney General,  and Pasco County Administration.

IF YOU BECOME A RAPE VICTIM
